Last weekend, we were fortunate to have Chuck Jefferson to Oklahoma for a clinic. Chuck was the 2008 US Olympic Judo alternate at 73kg, was a former World Team Member, and has won numerous other tournaments to include the US Open (2x), the Pan Am’s (2x), and New York Open to name a few. Our judo classes are based on a foundation of various drills. A typical class at OKCDT consists of a short warm up, usually 10-15 miniutes, followed by about 30-45 minutes of drills, and ending with about a half hour of randori, or free practice. Drills are important to build muscle, body and mental memory in order to learn proper throws. Read more →
